ERNEST RAY WILLIAMS

January 23, 1943 ~ October 10, 2017 (age 74)

Ernest (Sonny) Williams, 74, passed away at his home in Toone, TN, surrounded by his family on Tuesday, October 10, 2017. He was born on January 22, 1943 in Whiteville, TN to the late Gabriel Edward Williams and Ollie Mae Williams.

His funeral service was held on Saturday October 14, 2017 at 2:00 pm at the Jerome Boyd Chapel @ Dixie Funeral Home-Bolivar, TN  with Reverend Wayne Wooden in charge with burial in the Clover Chapel MB Church cemetery - Cloverport, TN.  Dixie Funeral Home www.dixiefuneralhome.com was in charge of the professional service.  

Sonny attended Allen White High School in Whiteville, TN. Sonny was a hard worker, skillful and motivated. He was employed with Hardeman Automotive Industrial for over 28 years, Aaron’s pavement in Henderson, TN, and the Hardeman County Board of Education until his health declined.

He is preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Lucille Wilson; his mother and father-in-law: George and Sadie Jestice.

He leaves to cherish his memories a loving wife of 46 years, Sally A. Williams of Toone, TN; three sons, Kevin R. Williams of Memphis, TN, Melvin (Gwendolyn) Brown of Toone, TN, Willie (Joyce) Morrow of Michigan City, MS; three daughters, Dora Brown of New York, NY, Elizabeth Lax of Bolivar, TN, and Carolyn (Steaven) Joy of Jackson, TN, nine grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, two brothers, Jerry Williams of Memphis, TN, and Lawerance (Olivia) Williams of Bolivar, TN, six sisters, Ruth (Benny) Polk, Sandra (Troy) Story, Dawn (Plummer) Allen, all of Bolivar, TN, Debra (Wayne) Spencer of Whiteville, TN, Peggy Hendrix of Murfreesboro, TN, Clarice Marable of Nashville, TN, one sister-in-law, Sadie Woodard of Toone, TN, two brother-in-law’s, George (Katherine) Jestice of Bolivar, TN and Claywell Jestice of Toone, TN, and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
