MATTIE LOUISE STEWART

May 20, 1928 ~ June 6, 2017 (age 89)

Ms. Mattie L. Stewart was born May 20, 1928, the fifth of ten children to Mr. and Mrs. Ephraim and Mrs. Cora Bell Stewart in Grand Junction,Tennessee. She enjoyed a wonderful life with her brothers and sisters.

Her funeral service was held on Sunday June 11, 2017 at 2:30 pm at Jones Chapel MB Church with Pastor Edrick Garrison delivering the eulogy.  Burial was in the church cemetery and Dixie Funeral Home www.dixiefunealhome.com was in charge of the professional service.

She received Christ at an early age and united with Jones Chapel M.B. Church under the leadership of Rev. F.D. Mckia. She continued to serve faithfully in church until death.
 
Mattie attended the following educational institute: Jones Chapel Elementary School, Fayette County Training School, Lane College, Rust College. She attained her Masters Degree from Trevecca Nazarene University.
 
On June 6, 2017, she departed this life at 1:45 AM in Baptist East Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee.
 
She leaves to cherish her memories, a son; Larry N. Stewart: one brother; Ephraim Ozell Stewart: Two sisters; Bobbie (Charlie) Walton and Thelma (Walter)  Hill of Memphis, Tennessee:  one granddaughter; Chane’l Stewart and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
