A Time to Be Born

Charles Edward Ellison was born on March 27, 1941, to the late Oscar Ellison and Huellar Chism Ellison.

A Time to Live

He lived in Toone, Tennessee all his life and attended school in Hardeman County. After high school, he attended Tennessee State University. He was employed at United Parcel Service (UPS) for over twenty plus years until retirement. He served as Alderman for the city of Toone for 6 years until the decline in his health. He loved all types of music, fishing, baseball, but most of all he loved his family and special occasions. He was known as the comedian of the family.

A Time to Serve

He was baptized and became a member of the Clover Chapel Baptist Church. He served as a Deacon and was a faithful member of the male chorus until his health decline.

A Time to Yearn

On March 19, 2024, at West Tennessee Healthcare in Martin our beloved father was called to rest in Heaven.

A Time to Mourn

Ed was preceded in the death by his daughter, Charlotte Ann Taylor, his parents, his brother Arthur W. Ellison and son-in-law Janeal Williams, sister-in-law Ruby Jenkins, brother-in-law Roy Finley Sr., and John Wesley Finley. Leaving to cherish his fond and comical memories are his wife, Mary Ann Ellison; his daughters Pamela Amos (Billy) Jackson, Tennessee, Regina Williams of Memphis, Tennessee, and Sherry Lyles (Kevin) of Jackson, Tennessee; a sister, Hugholene Robertson (Evelyn, Jr.) of Whiteville, Tennessee, Sister-in-law Marilyn Jackson, Lois (Dr. Joseph Suttles) Nashville, Tennessee, Sister-in-law Katherine Pirtle (Alvin), Brother-in-law Hamilton Finley (Bernice) Toone, Tennessee. Others to mourn his memories are his grandkids who loved him dearly: Jamario Ellison of Jackson, Tennessee; Victoria Joy of Louisville, Kentucky; Robin Mitchell of Murfreesboro, Tennessee; Kim Taylor Jr. and Jamarius Taylor of Memphis, Tennessee; and one great-grandson, Kiyan Taylor of Memphis, Tennessee. Others that he loved and cherished as his grandkids: Trayonna Miles, Ameriona Miles, Jamir Wilson, Kolbei Taylor, and Khylei Waller.
