ANNETTE (WILKES) GIVHAN

April 30, 1956 ~ December 15, 2017 (age 61)

Annette Wilkes Givhan passed away on Friday December 15, 2017 at Jackson Madison County General Hospital.  She was born in Whiteville on April 30, 1956 Betty Wilkes Herron and the late Nora Lee Wilkes. 

Her funeral service was held on Saturday December 23, 2017 at 12:00 noon at Simon Chapel MBC with Pastor Jeffery Bledsoe in charge.  Burial was in the church cemetery and Dixie Funeral Home dixiefuneralhome.com in charge of the professional service.

She confessed her faith in Jesus Christ at a young age and was baptized at Simon Chapel where she remained a member.  She was a member of the usher Board until her health failed.

She was a 1974 graduate of Bolivar Central High School and retired from Nat T. Winston Development Center after 22 years of service. 

She was married to James Van Mitchell and to this union one child was born, Alicia ReShea Wilkes.  She later married Nazareth Givhan and to this union one child was born, Tomarcus Deon Wilkes. 

She leaves to cherish her memory her children; her mother, Bettie B. Herron; three stepchildren, Reynaldo (Shavonda) Givhan, Natalie (Demont) Turner and James Mitchell; her siblings, James T. Gibbs, Belinda Gibbs, Terrance R. (Christine) Wilkes, Gwendolyn (James) Selmer, Rafus Wilkes, Sandra Robinson, Darrin (Delene)Prince, Michelle (Wayne)Jackson and Nolan (Serita) Wilkes; three grandchildren, two aunts; one uncle and many other relatives that will truly miss her.
