Annie Bell Messenger Hamer

1949-2016

Annie Bell Messenger Hamer of Bolivar passed away on Sunday September 25, 2016.  She was born on December 20, 1949 in Hardeman County to the late Lem Messenger and Bernice Sims Messenger.

Her funeral service was held on Saturday October 1, 2016 at 12:00 noon at Hardaway MB Church (Michigan City, MS) with Pastor Gerald Thomas, Sr. in charge.  Burial was in the church cemetery and Dixie Funeral Home (www.dixiefuneralhome.com) was in charge of the professional service.

On November 24, 1974 she married Thomas Hamer, Jr. and joined Hardaway MB Church.  

She was employed and retired from Harman Automotive-Bolivar.

Preceding her in death were her parents, one brother, Eddie Messenger and one sister, Ernestine Joy.

She leaves to cherish her memory her husband; four daughters, Blanche (Jerry) Cox, Stephanie Taylor, Tara Hamer and Tameka Hamer; two sons, Nakero (Kja) Hamer and Thomas (Michelle) Hamer III; four special children that she loved, Shunta Hamer, Thomas Lamont Hamer, Brenda Williams and Shawn Hayes; two sisters, Peggy (Clifft) McDanile and Carolyn (Percy) Joy; three brothers, Glenn (Helen), Lester (Rosie) and Lenn (Bernett) Messenger and a host of grandchildren and other relatives and friends that will miss her.
