BENJAMIN FRANKLIN AVENT

March 15, 1925 ~ March 17, 2017 (age 92)

Mr. Benjamin F. Avent, Sr. was born on March 15, 1925 in Hickory Valley, TN to the parents of Mr. George and Irene Beauregard Avent. He was preceded in death by his parents, Mr. George and Irene Avent,   his sister, Lily Mae Avent, his wife, Mrs. Evelyn Davis Avent, and his daughter, Pearlie Avent Mayo.

His funeral service was held on Saturday March 25, 2017 at 1:00 noon at Hillfield MBC with Pastor Lawrence Pirtle in charge.  Burial was in the Church Cemetery and Dixie Funeral Home www.dixiefuneralhome.com in charge of the professional service

On March 17, 2017, Mr. Benjamin F. Avent, Sr. departed this life at Pine Meadows leaving behind his precious family.

At an early age, he professed his hope in Christ and joined Hillfield Baptist Church in Toone, TN. He served faithfully on the  Deacon Board, and a Church Custodian until his health began to fail.   

Bro. Benjamin was united in Holy Matrimony to Mrs. Evelyn Davis Avent. To this union, three children were born, Pearlie, Benjamin Jr., and Constance.

Bro. Benjamin was a hardworker and a provider for his family. He worked at the Tannery in Bolivar, TN.  He retired from Harmon Automotive in 1990.

He leaves to cherish his loving memories: his devoted loving son and daughter, Mr. Benjamin F. Avent, Jr. and Ms. Constance Ann Avent of Toone, TN; One brother and sister, Joe (Etha Mae) Avent and Rosie L. Pirtle of Bolivar, TN; Four Grandchildren, Jeanne Wright and Andrew (Laura) Mayo of New York, Stacey (Arthur) Ketcham of North Carolina, Justin M. (Tassica) Avent, Sr. of Toone, TN; Seven Great-Grandchildren, LaTisha and DeShawn Wright, and Sariah Mayo of New York, Evelyn, Eboni, and Erica Ketcham of North Carolina, and Justin M. Avent, Jr. of Toone, TN, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
