BOBBIE JEAN DYSON

September 3, 1938 ~ April 30, 2017 (age 78)

Bobbie Jean Dyson passed away in Henderson on Sunday April 30, 2017.  She was born in Somerville  on September 3, 1938 to the late Bessie Mae Green and General Grant Humphrey.

Her funeral service was held on Sunday May 7, 2017 at 3:00 pm at Smith Chapel MB Church with Reverend Nathan Gibbs delivering the eulogy.  Burial was in the church cemetery and Dixie Funeral Home www.dixiefunealhome.com was in charge of the professional service.

She accepted Jesus Christ at a young age and joined Smith Chapel.  She attended the Fayette County public schools and later Allen White School in Whiteville.

She was married to the late Arthur Junior Pirtle and after his death she married the late Freddie Lee Dyson. 

She was preceded in death by her parents and spouses; three sons, Willie Humphrey, Frank and Jick Pirtle; three brothers, Willie L., George Humphrey, Sr. and Tom Bonner; three sisters, Trudie Scott, Lizzie Whitaker and Betty Whitehorn; one grandson, Jermaine Porter.

She leaves to cherish her memory four daughters, Bessie (Ernest) Stanley, Rosie Jones, Cora Pirtle and Rhonda (Frederick, Sr.) Griffin; two stepsons, Robert and Jeffery Wilkins; six brothers, Sammie Green, Sr., Elijah Humphrey, Willie Percy Green, John Green, Robert (Sally) Green and James Green; two sisters, Roberta Coleman and Lutisia Puryear; one uncle, Harry Williams, 14 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends that will miss her.
