CHARLIE ROY DUBOSE

March 7, 1945 ~ October 28, 2017 (age 72)

Roy was born on March 7, 1945, to Ray and Mary Jane Selmer of Dayton, Ohio, but he was reared by his grandparents, John and Matilda Dubose. Roy departed this life on October 27, 2017 at Bolivar General Hospital while under the care of Hospice.

His funeral service was held on Saturday November 4, 2017 at 2:00 pm at Jerome Boyd Chapel @ Dixie FH-Bolivar, TN  with Evangelist Rosie Wooden in charge.  Dixie Funeral Home www.dixiefuneralhome.com was in charge of the professional service. 

His father, grandparents, sister, twin sister, and three children (Roy, Jr., Denzel, and Patricia) preceded him in death.

Roy professed a hope in Christ at an early age and was baptized through Little Walnut Grove Baptist Church.

Roy was  a devoted house mate and worker. He worked a variety of jobs in his life time from the saw mills to repairing cars. He was an all around handy man. He enjoyed talking about his trucks, riding in his truck “over town and going around the curve” as he so called it, and listening to the blues with his beloved Betty. He often spoke words about each of his kids whether it was good or bad, just to let you know what kind of relationship he had with each of them. He will truly be missed.

He leaves to cherish his memory, his mother, Mary Jane Selmer, of Dayton, OH; his twin brother, Charlie (Rayford) Dubose of Bolivar, TN; his lifelong love Betty Pugh of Bolivar, TN; sixteen children (8) biological: Robert Dubose, Carol Dubose, Camilla Long, Cassandra Long, Christopher Long, Bryan Long, and Roy Pugh all of Bolivar, TN, Teresa Hollingsworth of Dayton, OH; seven step: Pauline Howell, Earline Ramsey, Maxine Hill, Bridget Crisp, all of Bolivar, TN, and Christine Clark of Memphis, TN, a special sister/caretaker: Mozell Parram along with a host of grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
