E. M. DILWORTH, JR

January 31, 1947 ~ February 1, 2017 (age 70)

EM Dilworth, Jr. fondly known as Tapp, story starts on January 31, 1947 the only child born to EM Dilworth, Sr. and Dessie B. Mason Dilworth. Tap was born in Benton County, MS where he would spend his childhood, grow up, go to school and make many lifelong friends. When Tapp was still young, E.M. and Dessie moved their small family to Grand Junction, Tennessee.

His funeral service was held on Sunday February 5, 2017 at 2:00 pm at Mount Bethel MBC with Pastor Carmonted Duncan in charge.  Burial was in the Church Cemetery and Dixie Funeral Home www.dixiefuneralhome.com in charge of the professional service.

After many years of farming with his parents and various other occupations, Tapp spent his last work years with a family owned business he started with his sons whom he trained to do many skillful construction jobs from building to electrical wiring, plumbing, painting and landscaping.

Tapp confessed his belief in Christ at an early age and joined Mount Bethel MB Church. After many years away from the church, he returned and became a deacon, superintendent of Sunday school and a great supporter of the church.

EM earthy story ended Wednesday, February 1, 2017 at Jackson General Hospital in Jackson, TN surrounded by family at 9:08 pm. Loved ones that cleared the path for Tapp are his parents, sons, Scottie, Sherman and Ray and his daughter Cynthia.

Loved ones that will miss Tapp until they meet again are his daughters; Nancy (Michael) of Grand Junction, Tn, Linda Ann of Michigan City, MS, his sons, Cedric (April) whom he lived with, Patrick and Donnie all of Grand Junction, TN, a granddaughter he reared, Jocelyn of Nashville, TN, three daughter – in-laws: Cheryl, Flora, and Sherita; twenty-four grandchildren, twenty-one great-grand children, and a host of relatives and friends. Tap was always an independent man, but in his last days he depended heavily not only his children but on many friends and relatives. Doris, Betty, Ruth, Jean, his church members and several buddies helped him and provided care.

And so the story goes on until we see our beloved EM again in the Air. We love you and already miss you Tapp.
