JAMES N PERRY

January 16, 1934 ~ October 1, 2017 (age 83)

Mr. James Perry was born January 16, 1934 to the late Adolphus and Hannie Douglas Perry of Whiteville,Tn. He accepted Christ at an early age and joined Clover Garden CME Church in Whiteville,TN. He later moved hs membership to St.Paul CME church in Bolivar, TN.,where he remained a faithful member until his illness.

His funeral service was held on Saturday November 4, 2017 at 12:00 noon at Union Hill MB Church-Whiteville TN  with Bishop Kevin Lake in charge and burial in the Bolivar Community Cemetery.  Dixie Funeral Home www.dixiefuneralhome.com was in charge of the professional service. 

He attended and graduated from Allen White High School in Whiteville,TN. Upon graduation, he enlisted in the United States Navy. James went on to obtain a Bachelors degree in Mathematics and a Masters degree from Tennessee State University. Mr. Perry was a school teacher for the Hardeman County School System. He retired after serving for thirty six years in Education. He was also a barber for many years.

James was married to Lela Waller Perry and from that union, there were four children.

He departed this life on October 1, 2017. Preceeding him in death was two brothers; Rivers Lee Perry Sr. and Herbert Perry and two sisters; Mary Lou White and Maggie Mae Jones.. He leaves to cherish his memories five children; Jean Boyd (Dayton, Ohio), Sherrilyn Muhammad (St. Louis, MO., Reginald Perry, Lesa Perry, and Nicole Perry of Bolivar,TN; eighteen grandchildren: NaShid, Aziz, Ahmad, NaSir, Nyi, MarQuista, Rashad, Asia, Keon, Cabria, Adarius, Adunte` Sr., Anthony Jr., Ariel, Kierra, Kendrick, K.J., and Tae; nine great grandchildren; Samir, Jordan, Journey, Aiyana, Adunte` Jr., A’Mauri, Aniyah, Ayden, Anthony III; three brothers; George T. Perry (Bolivar,TN), LC Perry (St. Louis,MO), Roosevelt (Charlene) Perry (Nashville,TN), five sisters; Dorothy Nell Stevenson (Detroit, MI), Ada Banks (Atlanta, GA), Bernice Bigsby (Memphis, TN), Seretha Robinson (Rockford,Ill), and Emma Jean Taylor (St. Louis, MO), and a host of nieces and nephews cousins and friends.
