John Thomas Hudson

1923-2016

John Thomas Hudson, 93, of Bolivar passed away on Saturday September 3, 2016 at Bolivar General Hospital.  He was the youngest child of the late James "Ed" Hudson and Ida Pankey Hudson.  

His funeral service was held on Saturday September 10, 2016 at Zion Temple Worship Center at 1:00 pm with Reverend Willie Ray Boyle delivering the eulogy.  Burial was in the Bolivar Community Cemetery and Dixie Funeral Home was in charge of the professional service.  

He was a graduate of Allen-White School and a veteran of the United States Navy.  He was employed with South Central Bell and Barrett and Stevens furniture store. 

He accepted Jesus Christ at a young age and joined Greater Springfield MB Church.  In September 1956 he joined Zion Temple Church.  

On April 13, 1946 he married Alma Herron and to this union nine children were born.   

He is preceded in death by his parents, one daughter, Lavoris Coulter and one sister, Elsie  Williams.  

He leaves to cherish his memory eight children, Flake (Linda) Hudson, Baron (Gale) Hudson, Vivian Walker, Carolyn (Willie Ray) Boyle, Alma Jean Greer, Johnny Dean Hudson and Donnie (Kathy) Hudson; fifteen grandchildren; eleven siblings, Mamie Stegall, Curtis (Beverly) Young, Willie James (Jackie) Hudson, James Hudson, Catherine Hudson, Winnie Hudson, Nannie Mae Hudson, Ella B. Hudson, Leon and Billy Hudson and Pheobe Hudson; many other relatives and friends that will miss him.
