Larry Gene Tomlin was born January 26, 1954 in Hardeman County, Tennessee.  Larry was the fourth eldest of 10 children.  He was preceded in death by his father, Sylvester Arthur Jestice (Tomlin) and mother, Annie Louise Jestice, and two brothers; James Edward and Arthur Thomas Tomlin.

His funeral service was held on Saturday July 22, 2017 at 1:00 pm at the Clover Chapel MB Church with Pastor George Beauregard in charge. Burial was in the Church Cemetery and Dixie Funeral Home www.dixiefuneralhome.com was in charge of the professional service.

Friday, July 14, 2017, at St. Thomas Hospital West in Nashville, Tennessee, God called His faithful servant of 63 years home to rest from labor to reward. 

He attended Bolivar Central High School, Bolivar Tennessee. Larry later became a member of the Tennessee Army of National Guard. He was employed at the Tanery Corporation and later went on to be employed at Kilgore Corporation.

Larry accepted Christ at an early age and united with Clover Chapel Missionary Baptist Church where he remained a faithful member until his departure. Larry loved to sing. In his earlier years, he sang with The Trumpet Aires. He was also a member of the Clover Chapel Male Chorus and the Clover Chapel Mass Choir where he served as president. Larry was a dedicated and dependable servant as he faithfully served as deacon. He was always willing to drive the church van to pick-up and/or drop-off members.

Larry was very active in the community. He enjoyed cooking, baking, gardening, landscaping, and just hanging out with his family and friends.

He was a loving father and loyal to his family and friends.

Larry leaves to cherish his memories his sons: Montrell Tomlin of Nashville, Tennessee; and JaRobyn Tomlin of Smyrna, Tennessee: grandsons: Ma’ Kyron Shantavious Tomlin and Jonah Deshawn Crawford: and granddaughters: Imani Cordero Tomlin and Nautica Breanna Tomlin: four brothers: George Tomlin of Browns Mills, New Jersey; John and Willie Tomlin of Nashville, Tennessee, and Terry Lynn (Janice) Jestice of Whiteville, Tennessee; three sisters: Nancy Emery of Jackson, Tennessee; Martha (Marvin) Tomlin-McCrary of Columbia, Missouri and Karen (Stan) McGrady of Nashville, Tennessee; sister-in-law: Carolyn Tomlin of Toone, Tennessee, and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
