Obituary

Mother Lue Ella McKinnie was born June 27, 1928 in Hickory Valley, TN to Savannah and Vernon Beauregard, Sr. She quietly departed this life on Wednesday, November 30, 2016 at Jackson General Hospital in Jackson, TN.

Her funeral service was held on Wednesday December 7, 2016 at 12:00 pm at Greater New Hope MB Church- Bolivar, TN with Elder James Patterson in charge.  Burial was in the Bolivar Community Cemetery and Dixie Funeral Home www.dixiefuneralhome.com was in charge of the professional service.

She accepted Christ at a young age and joined Middleburg Baptist Church of Middleburg, TN.  Under the leadership of the Lord, the family later joined Greater New Hope Church of Bolivar, where she was an active, faithful, loyal and devoted member and church mother.  She had a genuine love for her pastor and wife, and church family.

Miss Lue Ella McKinnie became the bride of Mr. Leon McKinnie in 1945.  They kept the vow, “Till death do us part,” for 56 years until God called her husband to rest on August 16, 2002.   Their union was blessed with six sons and three daughters.  She was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother.

Mother McKinnie devoted her younger years to farming, being a homemaker, taking care of her children, and being a caregiver for many others. Her love and generosity extended to everyone. Her home was a haven for anyone who needed a place to stay, sleep or eat.  She enjoyed reading, canning, sewing and cooking.  She was well known for her delicious caramel cakes and her love for flowers.

Entrusted with her legacy and fond memories are:  Daughters:  Verna Harper and Linda McKinnie, both of Bolivar, TN;  and Sandra Hicks of Memphis, TN.   Sons:  Johnnie (the late Earnestine) McKinnie and  Bishop Willie T. McKinnie, both of Bolivar, TN;  Robert (Jeanette) McKinnie of Kansas City, MO;  LC (Mable) McKinnie of Jackson, TN;   Bishop Curtis (Alice) McKinnie of Memphis, TN;  and Melvin (Gertrude) McKinnie of Bolivar, TN.  Sisters:  Jeanette Cheairs, Brenda K. Haddix, Judy Allen, Lora Lisa  Robertson all of Bolivar, TN; Callie M. Beauregard, of  Grand Rapids, MI.   Brothers:  Willie (Jackie) Beauregard of  Grand Rapids, MI; Vernon (Linda) Beauregard, Jr., of Jackson, TN;  Minister James (Patricia) Beauregard and Fredrick E. Beauregard , both of Bolivar, TN;  23 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.  Her lifelong friends and classmates were Elnora Woods and Marie Taylor.  Preceding her death were two sisters, Dollie Simon, Mary Liza Beauregard and one brother Moses Beauregard.
