MAMIE RUTH ANDERSON

August 23, 1929 ~ November 18, 2016 (age 87)

Mamie Ruth Patrick was born August 23, 1929, in Hardeman County. She was one of three children born to the late Mr. and Mrs. Roger an Ohpelia Parham.

Her funeral service was held on Saturday November 26, 2016 at 2:30 pm at Jerome Boyd Chapel @ Dixie FH -Bolivar with Pastor Robert Parham in charge.  Burial was in the Anderson Memorial Gardens and Dixie Funeral Home www.dixiefuneralhome.com was in charge of the professional service. 

On Friday, November 16, 2016, Mamie gently closed her eyes and went home to meet her Savior. Her sister, Katherine, as well as two very close friends, Elsie Lake and Doris Lake, preceded her in death.

Mamie was educated in the Hardeman County School System and graduated from Allen-White High School in Whiteville, TN. She was a graduate of Lane College in Jackson, Tennessee with a B. S. Degree in Education. After graduation from Lane College, she returned to Hardeman County and taught in the Hardeman County System for 41 years prior to retiring in 1994.

Mamie was united in holy matrimony to Mr. Ernest Walter Anderson, Sr., who preceded her in death. To this union two children (Ernest, Jr. and Patricia Jo) were born.

Those who will cherish Mamie’s memories are two children, Ernest (Machey) Anderson, Jr. of Toone, TN and Patricia Jo Hook of Antioch, TN; one brother, Joe Roger (Ruth) Parham of Bolivar, TN; one brother-in-law, A.T. Anderson of Dickerson, TN; three grandchildren, Xavier Anderson, Gabrielle Hook and Adam Hook; one great granddaughter, Domonique Anderson; and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
