1931 – 2016

Mrs. Rosie Brown, daughter of the late Monroe Parham and Mary Polk was born on January 8, 1931.

Her funeral service was held on Saturday October 8, 2016 at 1:00 pm at Bethlehem MB Church (Bolivar, TN) with Pastor Arthur L. Becton in charge.  Burial was in the Church Cemetery and Dixie Funeral Home (www.dixiefuneralhome.com) was in charge of the professional service.

Mrs. Rosie was preceded in death by her husband, Mr. Billie Brown; her mother and step-father, Mary and Percy Taylor, five sisters: Sallie Mae Crisp, Willie jane Robinson, Dorothy Cleveland, Annie B. Parham, Josephine Parham; eight brothers: Billy Taylor, Wilson Parham, Ekell Parham, Monroe Parham, Jr., Lorenzo Parham, Rayfield Parham, Robert Ed Parham, and Alfonzo Parham, two grandchildren – Flora Sain and Jeremy Jackson.

She quietly departed her life at 12:45 pm on Wednesday, September 28, 2016 at her home. At an early age, she professed her faith in Jesus Christ and joined Middleburg Baptist Church, but later joined Bethlehem MB Church. She attended the public schools of Hardeman County.

She was united in Holy Matrimony to Mr. Billie Brown on October 6, 1951. The Union was blessed with ten children – six daughters: Fannie, Annie, Mable, Nettie, Betty, and Diane; four sons: Church, Rickey, Glen, and Dennis.

Throughout her life, Mrs. Rosie Brown, was a good cook for many people. As a result of her generous spirit and pleasant personality, she was loved by many.

She leaves to cherish her memories: her ten children: six daughters: Fannie Sain, Annie and Betty brown, Diane Simpson of Bolivar, TN, Mable (Roosevelt) Eppes of Fayetteville, NC, and Nettie (Roscoe) Jackson of Jackson, TN, four sons: Church Brown of Bolivar, TN,  Rickey (Orene) Brown of Middleton, TN, Glen (Gail) Brown of Chattanooga, TN,  and Dennis Brown of Jackson, TN, three sisters: Daisy Bell Wilson and Sarah Taylor of Bolivar, TN Mary Lou Graham of New York, two brothers: Jimmie (Ida Mae) Taylor of Cayce, MS, and Larry Taylor of Detroit, MI; one brother-in-law, R.L. Jones of Jackson, TN, one special daughter-in-law and personal nurse, Jeanette Joy; fourteen grandchildren, eighteen great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
