Rosie Lee Taylor was born on December 5, 1933 in Hardeman County, Tennessee to the late Roebuck and Annie Allen. She was the 7th child of 13 children. She was preceded in death by 8 brothers and sisters. On Thursday, March 23, 2017 she peacefully answered the Lord’s call at her home in Bolivar, Tennessee.

Her funeral service was held on Thursday March 30, 2017 at 1:00 noon at New Hope MB Church with Pastor Arthur L. McKinnie in charge.  Burial was in the Church Cemetery and Dixie Funeral Home www.dixiefuneralhome.com in charge of the professional service.

Sister Rosie accepted CHRIST at an early age and united with Jones Grove Baptist Church in Hickory Valley, Tennessee. She later joined New Hope Baptist Church, where she faithfully served the Lord.

Sister Rosie received her education in Hardeman County; where she attended Jones Grove Elementary School, and Hickory Valley Junior High School. She graduated from American High School.

Sister Rosie was united in Holy Matrimony to the Love of her Life, McNeal Taylor, on November 19, 1959. She is survived by two children. She trained them by example to be respectful and kind, to love God and the church.

All of Sister Rosie’s grandchildren inherited her Gifts: Art, Basketball, Singing, Dancing, Writing, Gardening, Cooking, and the love of Reading. Two weeks before her death, she sang, “I Can’t  Afford To Let My Savior Down” on A Thought to Live By on WOJG 94.7. She was our Superstar, now she will sing in Heaven.

Sister Rosie leaves to cherish her memories two loving children, a daughter Jerry Dean (John) Hill, Sr. of Whiteville, Tennessee; a son Lee Anthony (Michelle) Howard, Sr. of Hammond, Indiana; Eight grandchildren: Bernita Cunningham of Brownsville, TN, Tracy Hill of Bolivar TN, Minister John Lee Hill, Jr., Barry Hill of Memphis, TN., Mario Hill of Whiteville, TN., Ashley Howard of Hammond, Indiana, Lee Anthony Howard, Jr. of Hammond, Indiana, Brandon Howard of Hammond, Indiana; Three great grandchildren: Adeana Murphy, Rachel Cunningham, and Hailey Cunningham, all of Brownsville, TN; One great-grandson- in-law: Winfield Cunningham of Aberdeen , Mississippi; Four sisters: Frances Shivers of Detroit, MI., Josie (Daniel) Brown of Whiteville, TN., Grace (Willie) Haley of Cherokee, AL., and Emma Allen of Southfield, MI.; Four sister-in-laws: Florence Cox of East St. Louis, Ill; Lois Woods (Joe W.) of Whiteville, TN, Christine Chaney (Preston) of South Bend, Indiana, Sarah (Lorenzo) Long of Bolivar, TN and a host of Nieces, Nephews, Cousins, and Friends.
