Shirley Loraine Watkins

1944 –2016

Shirley Loraine Watkins Bolden was born April 3, 1944 to the late Willie and Cora Watkins. God called her home on Tuesday, July 26, 2016. She confessed Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior at an early age at Maple Springs Baptist Church.

Her funeral service was held on Saturday July 30, 2016 at 11:00 am at Jerome Boyd Chapel @ Dixie FH-Bolivar with Pastor Daryl Ransom delivering the eulogy.  Burial was in the Green Grove MB Church Cemetery-Bolivar and Dixie Funeral Home www.dixiefuneralhome.com was in charge of the professional service.

Shirley attended Bolivar Industrial School where she played basketball. She was employed at the state of Tennessee, Garment factory, Dover, and Nat T Winston.

She was a loving, caring, giving person who loved her family and friends. She will be deeply and greatly missed. She was preceded in death by her parents, Willie and Cora Watkins, two sisters: Ida and Faye Watkins, three brothers: Howard, Willie, and James Watkins, and a son Burgess Bolden.

Shirley leaves to cherish her precious memories a loving and devoted husband of 52 years, Thomas Ray Bolden; three sons: Terrance and Anthony Bolden of Bolivar and Toris (Nikkie) Bolden of Nashville; a loving granddaughter, Porche; two loving grandsons, Toris, Jr. (T.J.) and Trabeon; three great grandchildren: Allen, Paisley, and Mason; four sisters: Elsie (W.C) Bowden and Gola Jean (Archie) Reaves of Bolivar, Carmelita (Benny) Perry and Vicki (Greg) Greer of Nashville. She also leaves to cherish three sister-in-laws, two brother-in-laws, and a host of loving nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
