Thelma Louise Simpson Long

1948 -- 2016

Ms. Thelma Louise Simpson was born on October 12, 1948 to the late L. D. and Louise Gray Simpson in Hardeman County. She departed this life on Tuesday, May 17, 2016 at Saint Thomas West Hospital in Nashville, TN at the age of 67. She had five siblings who proceeded her in death: Dorothy, Shirley, Nancy, Sammie and Joey. 

Her funeral service was held on Saturday May 21, 2016 at 11:00 am at the Mt. Olive MB Church in Middleton, TN with Evangelist Bernette Messenger in charge.  Burial was in the Bolivar Community Cemetery in Bolivar, TN and Dixie Funeral Home www.dixiefuneralhome.com was in charge of the professional service.

She received basic education in public schools of Hardeman County. She accepted Christ at an early age at Hillfield MB Church. 

Her hobbies were sewing, cooking, fishing, and completing puzzles. She had a passion for spoiling her grandchildren. 

She leaves to cherish her memory six children: Edmond (Taunya Jones) Long, JoAnn Long, Tammy Long, Walter (Chloe Simms), Shane Long, and Lewis Long. Six brothers: Billy Simpson, Bobby Simpson, David Simpson, Richard Simpson, Robert (Diane) Simpson, and Lawrence (Marlita) Simpson. Four sisters: Betty Simpson, Brenda Simpson, Phyllis Simpson, and Martha Simpson Johnson. eighteen grandchildren, six great- grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, uncles, aunts, and friends who will cherish the fond memories.
