WILLIE DEE RIVERS

February 22, 1943 ~ May 11, 2017 (age 74)

Willie Dee Rivers was born on February 22, 1943. He was the oldest of two born to the late, Mr. Willie B. and Mrs. Mattie Lee River. His sister, Mrs. Evelyn Pearson, also preceded him in death.

His funeral service was held on Tuesday May 16, 2017 at 12:00 noon at Old Bethel MB Church with Reverend Tommie Fleming delivering the eulogy.  Burial was in the Independent Cemetery and Dixie Funeral Home www.dixiefunealhome.com was in charge of the professional service.

Willie accepted Christ at an early age at Antioch Baptist Church of Whiteville, TN, and later joined Old Bethel MB Church. He was a faithful deacon until his physical health prevented him from attending.

Willie was married to Mrs. Charritious Rivers who preceded him in death.

He was a loving father, grandfather, and great grandfather. The Life he lived had an impact upon everyone who came in contact with him.

Deacon Willie leaves to cherish his memories; five children: a daughter, Mrs. Shelia (Mario) Griggs; four sons: Mr. Kenneth (Linda) Rivers, Mr. Craig (Nikki) Rivers, Mr. Brian (Alexis) Rivers, Mr. Ryan (Anja) Rivers; one sister, Mrs. Dorothy Jean Rivers-Wilson; two aunts: Mrs. Francis Gooch of Lexington, TN; thirteen grandchildren, eight great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren; a host of other relatives and friends, especially the ‘Hatchie Haven Gang’.
