Doris Ann (Woods) King
APRIL 30, 1948 ~ JULY 29, 2018 (AGE 70)
Doris A. King was born in Whiteville, Tennessee on April 30, 1948 to Lue Tissue Woods and Johnny Whitaker. Both parents preceded her in death.
Her funeral service was held on Sunday August 4, 2018 at 1:00 pm at Union Springs MB Church with Reverend Jerry Crisp in charge. Burial was in the church cemetery and Dixie Funeral Home www.dixiefuneralhome.com was in charge of the professional service
Doris confessed her love for Christ at a very young age and was baptized at Union Springs M.B. Church.
She graduated from Allen White High School in Whiteville, Tn and later moved to St. Louis, Missouri. She continued her education at Forest Park Community College.
Doris was united in holy matrimony to Henry J. King and to this union no children were born.
Doris was employed with the Government (OPM) Office of Personnel Management until her retirement. In retirement, she enjoyed and had a passion for planning and hosting family gatherings and spending time with her family.
She was a loving and protective mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She was a caring person who was always willing to help others.
She was preceded in death by her son, Christopher N. Haliburton, her husband, Henry J. King, grandparents, Richard and Fannie P. Price Woods, a niece, Lutricia Sain, a uncle, Robert Woods, and three aunts, Jennie Lue Patton, Mattie Robertson and Gertude Jetton.
She leaves to cherish her memory: five siblings; Clarence (Dorothy) Sain, Almatine Johnson, and Betty Woods all of St. Louis, MO, Bill (Shirley) and Wayne Woods of Whiteville, Tennessee; a daughter-in-law, JeneĢ Haliburton; four grandchildren, Christian Marie, Chloe` Chenel, Candace Jene, and Christopher Jr; a great- grand daughter, Ciara; her niece; Christian; nephews, Craig (Gwen), Courtney (Brandise), Cordarius, Corrion, Cevin, Larry: granddaughters Correyana and Calysa; two aunts: Armie Woods and Frances Spencer, a special friend, Deloris Spencer, and a host of cousins, aunts, other relatives and friends.
Doris is no longer with us physically, she will be in our hearts and souls forever.
