SEPTEMBER 21, 1941 ~ AUGUST 3, 2019 (AGE 77)
Douglas Ray Montgomery, 77, long-time resident of Country View Estates in Toone, TN, died suddenly Saturday, August, 3, 2019 from cardiac arrest. Before his death, he had been convalescing at Maplewood nursing home after a recent injury. Doug, a Navy veteran, also worked briefly as a radiology technician. An avid reader, he loved coffee and conversation. Boxing and theology were among his favorite topics. He is survived by his daughter Laura (Randall) Phelps and son Matthew (Stacy) Montgomery; both of Southaven, MS.
Memorial services for Mr. Montgomery will be held Thursday, August 8, 2019 at 10:15 a.m. at West Tennessee Veteran’s cemetery in Collierville, TN on Forest Hill Irene road and Dixie Funeral Home (www.dixiefuneralhome.com) was in charge of the professional service.In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to World Vision at https://mycause.worldvision.org/campaign/Doug-Montgomery-memorial-fund.
