Robin Norment Gordon, 65, died on Friday June 14, 2019 in Memphis.  She was born to Hattie Norment Roach of Whiteville and the late A. V. Phillips of Chicago, IL. 

Her funeral service was held on Saturday June 22, 2019 at 1:00 pm at Smith Chapel MB Church-Whiteville with Pastor Shon Beasley in charge.  Burial was in the church cemetery and Dixie Funeral Home dixiefuneralhome.com was in charge of the professional service.

Robin found Jesus Christ at a young age and wherever she went she quickly found a church. 

In 1968 her family relocated from Chicago to Three Rivers, Michigan where she attended high school and graduated with honors.  In 1971 she was crowned Miss Three Rivers.  Known for her love of learning, she went to college and became a teacher and taught elementary and Jr. high school.  

Preceding her in death was her father and two siblings, Dale Geneva Kilgore and Lonnie V. Murphy.  

She leaves to cherish her memory her mother; two sons, Jemall Lee Gordon and LaVarr Joseph Funches; one daughter, Rema Ella (Lucius Adam) Vassar; four siblings, Vivra Murphy, Renita Normenrt, Jamison Lynn Norment and Glenazye Norment; ten grandchildren and two great grandchildren; many other relatives and friends that will truly miss her.
