Mrs. Merlene Crews was born October 19, 1941 to the late Roosevelt and Dorothy Irene Montgomery. She departed this life on Sunday, June 6, 2021 at Jackson Madison General Hospital.

Merlene received her education in Hardeman County School System. She accepted Christ at an early age and joined Simon Chapel M.B. Church where she remained a member until her health declined.

Merlene worked for twenty five years at Western Mental in Dietary.

Merlene was preceded in death by her husband; Jessie Crews: two sisters; Rosaline Montgomery and Christie Ann Cross: two brothers, Wilbert Montgomery and Joshua Montgomery.

Merlene leaves to cherish her memories: three sons; Ramsey (Loretta) Fleet, Eddie (Tina) Fleet, Jr, and Marvin Wayne (Kaysha) Fleet all of Whiteville, TN: one sister; Mae Lois Rivers of Brownsville, TN: one brother; Will Ester Montgomery of Brownsville, TN and host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nephews, cousins, friends and neighbors.
