Charles Edward McKinnie was born June 30, 1959, to the late Richard, Sr. and Elmarine Wilkes McKinnie in Bolivar, Tn. He passed away May 28, 2019 in Southaven, Ms.
His funeral service was held on Saturday June 1, 2019 at 1:00 pm at Bethlehem MB Church with Min.Elliott Wilkes in charge of the service. Burial was in the Church Cemetery and Dixie Funeral Home (www.dixiefuneralhome.com) was in charge of the professional service.
He confessed his faith in Christ, joining with Bethlehem MB Church. He later joined Shiloh MB Church in Southaven, Ms.
He graduated from Bolivar Central High School in 1977. He was formerly employed at Bemis Mill and Nat. T. Winston Development Center. He worked various jobs after relocating to Southaven, Ms. Charles loved the Dallas Cowboys and Los Angeles Lakers .
Charles was preceded in death by his siblings: Virely Perry, Claude Wilkes, Gertdine Hussey, Richard (Bobbie Lou) McKinnie, Jr., Arion (Wanda) McKinnie, Byron (Shirley) McKinnie, Denise McKinnie, and a nephew raised as a sibling, Willie (Lenita) Manley and a brother-in-law, Willie Golden.
He leaves to cherish his fond memories: his wife of 23 years, Bessie McKinnie; bonus sons, Derrick Griffin and Angelo Griffin; 3 sisters: Sandra Manley, Doris (Jackie) Littleton, and Helen Golden; 1 brother: Johnny (Holly) Yancey; a niece and nephew, raised as siblings, Betty Wilkes, and Elliot Wilkes, 6 sisters-in-law: Margrette McKinnie, Queen Baker, Sharon (Chester) Ross, Lena (Thelton) McCracker, Irma Taylor, and Mary Taylor; 3 brothers-in-law: Clyde (Minnie) Taylor, Calvin (Christine) Taylor, Earl Lee (Lula) Taylor; 14 grandchildren, 3 aunts,: Clarissa Bell, Doretha Bowers, Armillar McKinnie and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, neighbors, and friends.
