Minister Charles Edward (Grip) Rivers

Charles Edward Rivers, 52, of Somerville died on Friday June 7, 2019 in Germantown. He was born on May 9, 1967 to John Lee and Christine Rivers.
His funeral service was held on Saturday June 15, 2019 at 1:00 at Fayette-Ware High School gymnasium with Reverend Melvin Rivers in charge. Burial was in the Victory Community Church Cemetery (Somerville) and Dixie funeral Home www.dixiefuneralhome.com was in charge of the professional service.
At a young age he accepted Jesus Christ and joined Antioch MB Church-Whiteville. He later joined Victory Community Church where he served as a Sunday School teacher, Decon and Minister.
He was a graduate of Fayette-Ware High School and a faithful employee of Chickasaw Electric Cooperative. He had a love for softball and played with the Laconia Warriors. He operated a car wash business and was Sargent at Arms for the Kuntry Klutchez Club and a member of the Masonic Lodge #415.
He was preceded in death by his father and one brother, Arthur L. Rivers.
He leaves to cherish his memory his mother; one daughter, Kierra Rivers and one son, Chartavius Rivers; eight siblings, Charlie Bell Rivers, Pastor Melvin (Myra) Rivers, A.C. (Brenda) Rivers, Raydell Rivers, Daisey rivers, Rebertha Rivers, Elaine Rivers, Doristine (Charlie) Price; three grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends that will truly miss him.
