Emmett William Smith was born on March 27, 1935 in Grand Jct., TN; the eldest of seven children born to the late James and Mary E. Smith. He departed this life on December 26, 2018 surrounded by his loving family at his son’s home in Grand Jct., TN.

His funeral service was held on Saturday January 5, 2019 at 12:00 pm at Jones Chapel MB Church with Pastor Michael Rhyan in charge.  Burial was in the church cemetery and Dixie Funeral Home www.dixiefuneralhome.com was in charge of the professional service.

He attended Fayette County School System. He worked at Sequentia, INC. in Grand Junction, TN for 37 years retiring in 2000.

Emmett confessed his faith in Christ at an early age at Jones Chapel M.B. Church in Grand Junction, TN where he remained a faithful member, serving his church previously as Sunday School Superintendent. He also served as an Usher Board Member for 50 plus years, serving until his death.

Emmett was joined in Holy Matrimony to Mildred Clark, who preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by three brothers: James (Pap), Bobby and Odell Smith.

Emmett leaves to cherish his memory:
 Five sons: James (Denise) Smith, Jerome (Mildred McCall) Smith, Robert (Annette) Smith, Earl Dell Smith and Tyrone (Stephanie) Smith
 Five Daughters: Christine Smith, Pamela Donald, Patricia Smith, Cherri Smith and April Smith
 A special God Daughter: Bessie Harvey
 Three sisters: Alberta Rayborn, Roberta (U.C.) Gibson, and Teresa Cooper
 Twenty four grandchildren and 36 great/great great grandchildren
 A very special friend for many years; Allie Mae Young
 A best friend; Silus McKinnie
 Two special cousins; Thomas Harvey, Jr. and Genova Smith
 Five sister-in-laws, three brother-in-laws and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins & friends.
