Harold L. Moore, entered into eternal peace on Tuesday, April 4, 2017, at the VA Memphis Hospice and Palliative Care Center.
His funeral service was held on Sunday April 8, 2017 at 11:00 am at Progressive MB Church with Pastor Peter Brown in charge. Burial was in the Bolivar Community Cemetery and Dixie Funeral Home www.dixiefuneralhome.com in charge of the professional service.
Harold LaFred Moore, son of the late Isrel Moore and Anita Owens Miller was born in Memphis, TN on October 22, 1952. Harold was raised in Memphis, graduated from Booker T. Washington and attended LeMoyne–Owen College and an Aeronautics and Technology College in Tulsa OK. He also served with The United States Marine Corps until his Honorable discharge.
Harold progressed though his career with the City of Memphis as a Firefighter, EMT, and Instructor then later served at the rank of Lieutenant. He was a lover of music, books and anything relating to aviation; he had a huge personality and a engaging conversation for everyone he met. It was not uncommon for him to give a family member, friend or acquaintance a nickname that always seemed to stick. He had a loving heart and an inquisitive mind. He read his bible, loved playing his keyboard and guitar and stayed current with what was going on in the world and his community.
He leaves his loving memories to be cherished by his; loving sisters, Joe Ann Slaughter of Memphis, TN, and Wendy Hart (Rodney) of Lebanon, TN; brothers, Fredrick and Dredrick Moore (Memphis, TN); children Nikki Rodgers (Memphis, TN), Kendrick Moore (Memphis, TN) and Anita Moore (Memphis, TN); uncles Parker Owens, Ernest Owens, Robert Owens Sr. and Melvin Owens and one aunt Yvonne Owens; precious grandchildren, Nikolas and Michael Rodgers, Avien Freeman, Kendria and Kendrick Moore Jr., Tristan Hamilton, Kensley Moore and great grandchild Howard Pennington IV; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
