James Robert Cawthon

JANUARY 3, 1927 ~ NOVEMBER 1, 2018 (AGE 91)

James Robert Cawthon was born to the late Raymond and Girtie Cawthon on January 3, 1927. He was the oldest of eight children.

His funeral service was held on Saturday November 10, 2018 at 1:00 pm at Beech Springs Baptist Church with Pastor Robert Wooden in charge.  Burial was in the church cemetery and Dixie Funeral Home www.dixiefuneralhome.com was in charge of the professional service.

He was educated in Chester County.

He was baptized at an early age at Beech Springs Baptist Church.

He was married to the late Frankie Mae Cawthon and lived in Detroit Michigan for 62 years.  To this union six children were born: Trent Cawthon, Kim Cawthon, Robert Cawthon, and Darnell Cawthon all of Detroit, MI. Doretha Cawthon and Flint Young who preceded him in death. 

He also leaves four grandchildren: Kristal Cawthon, Jasmine Cawthon, and Tracey Beckem all of Detroit, MI. Patrick Beckem preceded him in death.  Seven Great grandchildren: Charles Howell, Kim Cawthon (Rookie), Destiny Cawthon, Benjamin Wilson, Zyierre Wilson, Doretha Cawthon and Miracle Richardson all of Detroit, MI.

In 2014 he moved back to Henderson, TN to reside with his family.

He is survived by his siblings Dorothy Greer of Akron, OH, Geneva Burton and John Cawthon (Lillia) both of Henderson, TN. Vircie Massengill, Rayford Cawthon, and Willie Cawthon who preceded in death.

He is also survived by an Aunt Georgia Cawthon of Paris, TN. And a hosts of nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends that loved him very much.
