MARVIN EUGENE BROWN

February 18, 1963 ~ June 29, 2017 (age 54)

Marvin E. Brown, 54, of Jackson passed away on Thursday June 29, 2017 at Jackson Madison County General Hospital.  He was born on February 18, 1963 to the late James Rivers and Georgia Mae Brown Rivers.

His funeral service was held on Sunday July 2, 2017 at 2:00 pm at  the Jerome Boyd Chapel at Dixie Funeral Home with Pastor Chester Cox in charge.  Burial was in the Bolivar Community Cemetery and Dixie Funeral Home www.dixiefuneralhome.com was in charge of the professional service.

Marvin was educated in the Hardeman County public schools.  His spiritual nurturing began at Zion Temple Church of God In Christ under the leadership of Elder Tommie and Mother Addie McTizic.  As an adult he acknowledged Jesus Christ and joined the church. 

He was married to Bettie Brown. He worked in the construction and hotel maintenance field.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Mark (Charlie) Rivers and one sister, Lisa Rivers. 

He leaves to cherish his memory a loving and devoted companion, Virginia Donnell; two sons, Anthony T. Jones and Isaiah Thomas; four sisters, Gladys Rivers, Gloria (Eric) Coble, Gabriel McNeal, and Joann McNeal; three brothers, Anthony McNeal, Michael and James Rivers; seven aunts and one uncle; many other relatives and friends that will truly miss him.
