Rosie Lee Harris

Rosie Lee Simon Harris was born December 20, 1932 to the late Mr. Josh and Mrs. Freddie Lue Simon in Whiteville, Tennessee. She was the second child of two, her brother Charles Simon preceded her in death. Her husband George Harris Sr. also preceded her in death.
Her funeral service was held on Wednesday January 9, 2019 at 12:00 pm at Zion Temple Worship Center with Evangelist Daisy M. Harvey in charge. Burial was in the Bartlett Chapel Church cemetery and Dixie Funeral Home www.dixiefuneralhome.com was in charge of the professional service.
She was called home on January 3, 2019 at 5:30 AM at Bolivar Madison County General Hospital, Bolivar Tennessee.
Rosie was a stay-at-home mother and housewife. She loved children, all children. She loved to cook, especially her signature sweet potato and chocolate pies. Rosie was kind to everyone she met. She loved family gatherings. She was a gentle giant!
She attended Johnson Chapel church rural school. Rosie joined New Bethel C.O.G.I.C., Bolivar Tennessee. Rosie met and married George Harris Sr. and to this union ten children were born, three preceded her in death, Leonard, Denise and Robert Harris.
She leaves behind to cherish her memories three daughters: Evangelist Daisy Murphy Harvey, Ms. Clara Harris and Mrs. Elizabeth (Vernell) Woods all of Bolivar Tennessee. Four sons: Elder George Harris Jr, William (Valerie) Harris of Bolivar Tennessee, Minister Jimmy (Evangelist Audrey) Harris of Ramer, Tennessee, Mr. Ronnie (Phillis) Harris of Bolivar, Tennessee, thirty-one grandchildren, fifty-seven great grandchildren, one sister in law Ms. Betty Jane Simon of Whiteville, TN a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
