NOVEMBER 11, 1965 ~ MARCH 11, 2019 (AGE 53)
Mrs. Shirley W. Anderson, age 53 transitioned peacefully to her heavenly home on Monday, March 11, 2019 at her home in Lawrenceville, GA.
Her committal service was held on Tuesday March 19, 2019 at Anderson Family Cemetery at 12:00 noon with Pastor Terry in charge. Burial was in the Anderson Family Cemetery and Dixie Funeral Home www.dixiefuneralhome.com was in charge of the professional service.
Shirley was born on November 11, 1965 in Grand Junction, TN to Betty Woody who preceded her in death in 2005. Shirley professed her hope in Christ at a very young age and became a baptized believer of St. Paul-Skipper Springs Missionary Baptist Church in Grand Junction, TN.
She received her primary education in the Hardeman County, TN school system. She went on to receive her undergraduate degree from the University of Memphis. While at the University of Memphis, she met the love of her life, Sammy Anderson, and they were joined in holy matrimony in 1990.
After moving to Georgia and building their lives together, they became the proud parents of two sons, Evan and Spenser.
Shirley was employed at Equifax and worked her way up the corporate ladder attaining the position of Application Development Senior Manager. She loved working at Equifax and developed many friendships with co-workers.
Shirley and Sammy live by their strong Christian values. After moving to Georgia, they joined Christ the King Church in Dacula, GA, where they remain active members. Shirley and Sammy would have celebrated their 29th Wedding Anniversary on March 17th of this year.
She leaves to cherish her memory, her devoted husband Sammy, two sons, Evan and Spenser; sisters Marilyn Woody of Somerville, TN, Teresa Cox and Udessa Smith of Grand Junction, TN; brothers, Lawrence (Jackie) Woody of Stanton, TN, Herbert (Joann) Smith of Middleton, TN and Hubert Smith of Grand Junction, TN; Also brothers-in-law, Joe (Sandra) Jimmerson of Jefferson City, MO, Ricky (Regina) Anderson of Memphis, TN; sisters-in-law, Eulandis Anderson & Regina Anderson of Toone, TN; nephews she helped to raise, Terrence (Dysheena) Woody of Horn Lake, MS and Roderick (Melika) Woody of Cordova, TN. Shirley also leaves a host of relatives and friends who will cherish her memory. She will be sorely missed by her special pet, Maxwell.
