Willie James (Sampson) Murphy

Willie James (Sampson) Murphy of Whiteville died on Tuesday October 23, 2018 at Bolivar General Hospital. He was born in Whiteville on January 7, 1944 to the late Wiley Murphy and Artie Cross Murphy.
His funeral service was held on Saturday October 27, 2018 at 11:00 am at Antioch MB Church with Pastor Melvin Bufford in charge. Burial was in the church cemetery and Dixie Funeral Home www.dixiefuneralhome.com was in charge of the professional service.
He accepted Jesus Christ at a young age and joined Union Springs MBC and later joined Antioch MBC where his membership remained. He loved to sing in the church choir. He attended Hardeman County public schools at Union Springs and Allen-White. He was employed at Kilgore Flares and Harman Automotive until his health prevented him from working.
Preceding in death were his parents; three brothers, Eugene, Wilson and Jesse Murphy and two sisters, Emma Louise Jones and Elizabeth Murphy.
He leaves to cherish his memory five daughters, Jeanette Mcguire, Delphia Murphy, Quintessa (Andtray) Stewart, Catania and Patrena Minter; two sons, Brian and Reginald Minter; two brothers, Charles (Dorothy) Murphy and Henry Anderson; two sisters, Lucille Williams and Jeannie McNeal; six grandchildren and two great grandchildren; many other relatives and friends that will miss him.
