Barbara Jean Rucker, 79, of Bolivar passed away on Thursday March 2, 2023.  She was born on May 13, 1943 to the late Luther and Willie Clark.  

Her funeral service was held on Saturday March 11, 2023 at 1:00 pm at Mt. Salem MB church with Pastor Melvin Bufford in charge. Burial was in the church cemetery and Dixie funeral Home www.dixiefuneralhome.com was in charge of the professional service.

Bobbie was raised in Hickory Valley and was educated in the Hardeman County public schools.  She accepted Jesus Christ at a young age and joined New Hope MB Church.  She later joined Mt. Salem where her membership remained.  

In 1963 she married John Ollie Rucker and to this union six children were born.

She was employed with Bolivar Care Inn Nursing Center and later as a cook with Kentucky Fried Chicken restaurant where she retired.  

Preceding her in death were her parents and grandson,Detrick Pledge.

She leaves to cherish her memory four sons, Arthur (Vanessa), John (Teresa), David and Dennis Rucker; one daughter, Willie Mae Rucker; six grandchildren that she raised, Temisha (Drexler) Allen, Lekisha (Kwame, Sr.) Tidwell, Sasha Rucker, and Andre Rucker; two sisters, Julia (Gody) Pigram and Hattie Clark; twenty-eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; a host of other relatives and friends that will miss her.
