Carrie Dotson

October 5, 1934 ~ May 20, 2026 (age 91)

Carrie Estella Boyd-Dotson was born October 5, 1934 to the late Jerry and Biddie Ann Harris-Boyd in Hardeman County.

Her funeral service is scheduled for Saturday May 30, 2026 at Bartlett Chapel CME Church.  Burial will be in the Church Cemetery and Dixie Funeral Home www.dixiefuneralhome.com will be in charge of the professional service.

She was the 3rd of 7 children. Six of her siblings preceded her in death; Louis Boyd, Jerry Boyd, Robert Boyd, Lee Boyd,

Burl Boyd and Lonnie Calvin Boyd.

Carrie was called home on Wednesday, May 20, 2026.

She was a graduate of Allen White School in 1955. She accepted Christ at an early age and joined Bethlehem Missionary Baptist Church. She later moved her membership to Bartlett Chapel C.M.E. Church, where she remained until she transitioned. She served in several auxiliaries; usher board, missionary society and stewardess board.

Carrie was an employee with the State of Tennessee at Western Mental Health and Nat T. Winston for 34 years.

Carrie leaves to cherish her memories to her son, David (Paulette) Boyd of Toone, TN, her daughter, Bettie Boyd of Bolivar, TN, 3 granddaughters; Marcy Boyd of Bolivar, TN, Teneshia Godwin of Jackson, TN and Brandi Boyd of Whiteville, TN, 10 great grandchildren, 7 great great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

One son preceded her in death, Edward Boyd and 2 grandsons; Brian and Christopher Boyd.
