August 3, 1960 ~ March 6, 2025
64 Years Old
Celebrating the life of our beloved brother; Mr. Charles Gregory Barber was born August 4, 1960 to the late Mrs. Willie Ann Barber-Jones and the late Mr. James Franklin Taylor.
His funeral service was held on Sunday March 23, 2025 at 12:00 noon at New Visions Church with Reverend Anthony Fox in charge. Burial was in the Grand Junction Cemetery and Dixie Funeral Home www.dixiefuneralhome.com was in charge of the professional service.
Gregory departed this earthly life on March 6, 2025 at his home.
Gregory professed his faith in Christ at an early age at Pleasant Grove Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev, J.L. Gary. He later joined New St. James Church of Christ where he served as a deacon until his health began to decline.
Gregory was preceded in death by his mother, Mrs. Willie Ann (Robert Lee) Jones; his father, Mr. James Franklin (Tommie Lou) Taylor; one sister, Mrs. Kimberly Jones Brown; one aunt, Mrs. Jacqueline Barber Nelson.
Gregory leaves to cherish his precious memories: five sister; Bridgette (Arthur) Poplar of Michigan City, MS, Shareese (Christopher) Robertson of Bolivar, TN, Phyllis (David) Carter of Kokomo, IN, Annie (Jeffery) Plane and Ms. Meshelle Taylor both of Chicago, IL; three brothers, Robert Lee Jones, Jr. of Ripley, MS, Johnny Ray (Phyllis) Taylor, and James T. Taylor both of Chicago, IL; five nieces, Tykesha, Kuanya, Dominique, Gabrielle, and Kendra; eight nephews, Brian, Jermey, Howard, Jr., Jerry, Edward III, Stedmon, Darrius, and Alvin, Jr.; two great nieces he help raised, Khamiaya and Natiya Barber; one step grandson he also cared for, Messiah Sain; two very dear friends, Kutuarh Graham and Shell Stallings and a host of cousins and friends.
