Charles D Ivory

Mr. Charles Dennis Ivory, the fifth child of eight children born to the late Mr. Elmo and Mrs. Maybelle Willis Ivory in a rural community between Bolivar and Middleton,Tennessee. His basic education was obtained in the public schools of Hardeman County, Tennessee.
His service was held on Saturday June 6, 2020 at 1:00 pm at Dixie Funeral Home with Pastor Napoleon Shields in charge. Burial was in the Mt. Olive Church Cemetery-Middleton and Dixie Funeral Home (www.dixiefuneralhome.com) was in charge of the professional service.
Sunday afternoon, May 24, 2020, God dispatched an angel to Memorial Hospital in South Bend, Indiana to separate the soul of Charles Ivory from his earthly body, carrying it to a place of rest to await the return of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Three siblings: Emma Jean Ivory, Maxine Ivory-Perry, Luther Ivory, and one grandson; Kha’leel Miller preceded him in death.
Charles was a diligent worker, and provided for himself and his family as a Commercial construction worker until he retired. Charles was fun loving, he enjoyed socializing with family and friends. Working on cars was one of his hobbies. Enjoying life and playing cards was a past time.
Those who will cherish fond memories of Charles are: a special friend and confidant, Ms. Essie Edwards of South Bend, Indiana; two daughters: LouGemma Wright of Wicthita, Kansas, and Charlotte Denise Edwards; one son, Charles Dennis Edwards; two adopted daughters: Alice Edwards and Joyce Edwards of South Bend, Indiana; Three step children: Mrs. Barbara Ann (Michael) Profitt, Joyce Wright both of Wichita, Kansas, and Mr. Eddie Wright of St. Louis, Missouri; seven grandchildren; three great, grandchildren of South Bend, Indiana; three sisters: Ms. Chestine Pope of South Bend, Indiana, Mrs. Betty Sue (Curtis) Walker, and Miss Debra Ivory; one brother: Mr. W. T. Ivory, and a brother-in-law, Mr. George T. Perry all of Bolivar, Tennessee. A host of other relatives and friends will also cherish many memories of fond times spent with Charles.
