Christopher Herron Obituary

Christopher Deion Herron

February 15, 1995 ~ September 27, 2021 (age 26)

On February 15, 1995, Christopher was born at Jackson Madison County General Hospital to Mrs. Mario Herron-Scott and Eric D. Hussey. He was raised in the loving home of his devoted step-father Mr. Neckie Scott.

His private service was held on Saturday October 9, 2021 at 12:00 pm a Jones Chapel MB Church with burial in the Mt. Zion Cemetery with Pastor Micheal Rhyan in charge. Dixie Funeral Home (www.dixiefuneralhome.com) was in charge of the professional service

Christopher loved going to church with his grandparents (Christine and Ray Wilkes), at Mt. Salem Missionary Baptist Church where he was proud to be baptized at an early age. Pastor Melvin Bufford appointed him to be an honorary junior deacon. Chris was thrilled because he thought the world of Pastor Bufford and he wanted to serve. Chris later joined Jones Chapel Missionary Baptist church and continued serving in the Usher/Greeter Ministry.

Christopher attended school in Bolivar and graduated from Bolivar Central High School in 2014. At school everyone adored and wanted to protect Chris, but Chris was quick to say “I got this'“! He had a desire to work as a police officer or a firefighter, but was physically unable and Chris understood his situation and took it in stride. He always had a smile and something positive to say.

On Monday morning, September 27, 2021, Christopher quietly and peacefully transitioned to be with the Lord and his cherished loved ones. Preceding him in death were his grandfathers: Ray Wilkes and William Herron: grandmother: Gertdine Mckinnie Hussey.
He leaves to cherish his precious memories to his loving parents: Mario and Neckie Scott; siblings: Marquiza Herron, Micah Gaines, Kedan Scott, and Addison Scott; grandmothers: Christine Wilkes and Mickey Scott; uncle and aunt: Leroy & Gladia Perry; extended siblings and a host of uncles, aunts, his cousin squad, and a host of other relatives and friends.
