Derrick Wayne Giles

August 11, 1962 ~ November 25, 2025 (age 63)

Derrick Wayne Giles was born August 11, 1962, in Hardeman County, TN to the late Percy and Lizzie Mae Giles.

He grew up in the Bolivar area and attended school in Hardeman County and graduated from Bolivar Central High School.

As a young man, he joined Green Grove M.B. Church. He enjoyed playing and socializing with his friends on Parham Loop in Bolivar, TN.

Later in life, Wayne, as he was known, united with Kingdom Hall Congregation of Bolivar, TN and was active until his health failed. Wayne enjoyed spending time with family and friends. He was employed at Western Mental Health Institute as a Psychiatric Tech until his illness prevented him from working.

Wayne was preceded in death by one bother, Rozelle Dickerson; one sister in-law, Annie Lee Taylor. At 63 years, God extended His hand and welcomed him home on Tuesday, November 25, 2025 at approximately 8AM.

Wayne leaves to cherish his memories: his beloved wife, Margie Giles of thirty-seven years; an older brother, Luzon (Shirley) Dickerson of Bolivar, TN; two sisters, Beatrice Cleveland of Memphis, TN and Dale Marie Combo of Chicago, IL; three sister-in-laws, Linda Robinson, Anna Taylor, and Lillie Dickerson all of Bolivar, TN; two special cousins who seemed like siblings, Lafayette (Teresa) Dickerson and Lynn (David) Morris; the Kingdom Hall Congregation of Bolivar, TN; his Davita Family and a host of nieces, nephews, family, friends, and former co-workers.
