Elizabeth Nelson Gibbs, born on May 21, 1958 in Somerville, Tennessee to the late Earlene Nelson and Charlie Nelson.

Elizabeth professed her hope in Christ at an early age and joined Smith Chapel Baptist Church in Somerville, Tn.

She graduated from Fayette Ware and later completed training at Whiteville Vocational School, certified in food management.

She had a loving, fierce, yet gentle approach which served her well as she spent 30+ years working for the State of Tennessee as a healthcare provider, supervisor at Nat T. Winston Developmental Center (Bolivar) and retired after working as an officer for John Wilder Youth Development Center in Somerville, TN.

Friends and Family will Remember Elizabeth as an outgoing, friendly, and genuinely loving person. She made life long friends in every walk of life and always welcomed you in a time of need. everyone who knew her, loved her.

Elizabeth was called unto her eternal rest on Tuesday, July 16, 2024 while home surrounded by loved ones, as she had wished.

She was preceded in death by her parents; Earlene and Charlie Nelson, and a brother; Charlie Nelson Jr.

She leaves to cherish her memories one daughter, Yolanda Nelson of Cordova, TN: two grandsons; Javonte Crisp and Robert Crisp III of Clarksville, TN; four sisters: Linda Nelson, Shelia Watkins, and Letitia Ann Nelson of Brownsville, TN; Colleen Wolf of Jackson, TN: two brothers, George Earl Nelson of Atlanta, Georgia; and William (Yolanda) Jones of Memphis, TN. Elizabeth also leaves to cherish her memories a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. A special thank you to Flora Perry who spent a lifetime as her closest friend.
