Reverend Eugene Ellison, Jr.
December 24, 1941 ~ March 25, 2026 (age 84)
Pastor Eugene Ellison, Jr. was born on December 24, 1941, to the late Eugene Ellison, Sr. and Ethel Mae Hill Ellison.
Pastor Ellison attended Allen White High School in Whiteville, TN. He was employed at Hardeman County Bank, Harman Automotive, and Nelms Chevrolet.
Pastor Ellison responded to God's call and began preaching in 1966.
He was united in Holy Matrimony to Lorean Sain Ellison on January 26, 1971.
Pastor Ellison was a devoted member of Clover Chapel Baptist Church.
He previously served as the pastor of Mt. Tabor Baptist Church in Clifton, TN, and Union Baptist Church in Bath Springs, TN, and was currently pastoring Mission Baptist Church. During his time at Union Baptist Church, he had the honor of serving as Moderator and Vice-Moderator of the Tennessee River District Association. He was honored as the oldest pastor in Hardeman County in 2025.
In addition to his parents, Pastor Ellison is preceded in death by one brother, three sisters, and one son.
Pastor Ellison is survived by his loving wife, Lorean Sain Ellison; six children, Jeff Ellison (Mark), Phyllis Ellison, John Foster (Sharon), Tonya Perry (Fredrick), Atrice Ellison, and Gretchen Ellison
Bills (Dennis); siblings, Osivelt Ellison, Helen Pirtle, and Carolyn Tomlin; thirteen grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren: one special bonus granddaughter, Zyiel Smith; and a multitude of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends
