Gerner Parks, Jr. passed away on Thursday September 28, 2023 in Memphis. He was born on July 3, 1951 to the late Dezzie and Gerner Parks, Sr.
His funeral service was held on Saturday October, 14, 2023 at 1:00 pm at the Jerome Boyd Chapel at Dixie Funeral Home with Reverend Eddie Cole in charge. Burial was in the Hopewell Church Cemetery-Grand Junction and Dixie Funeral Home www.dixiefuneralhome.com was in charge of the professional service.
He attended the Hardeman County public schools. He confessed a hope in Jesus Christ at a young age and attended Hopewell MB Church.
He relocated to Memphis and was employed as a truck driver with Coors-Miller Company and Anheuser-Bush/Budwiser until he retired.
After retirement he spent time gardening, cooking and spending quality time with family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Michael Parks; and two sisters, Annie B. and Myrtle B. Parks.
He leaves to cherish his memory two children, Kimberly and Terry Parks; one grandson; eight siblings, Willie (Elenor) Parks, Diane Parks, Evelyn Williams, Robert (Linda) Parks, Lelsa Parks, Larry (Jannie) Parks, Danice Polk and Dennis Parks; many other relatives and friends that will truly miss him.
