Gertrude Bills Prewitt was born on February 3, 1932 to the late Fletcher and Luddie Bills.

She departed this life Sunday, May 12 at Jackson Madison County General Hospital in Jackson, TN.

Gertrude confessed her faith in Christ at an early age at New Hope Baptist Church in Hickory Valley, TN.

She attended Hickory Valley Public School.

She was a wife, mother, and home maker. Gertrude was united in Holy Matrimony on November 23, 1946 to the late Leo Prewitt, Sr. and to this union, ten children was born.

Gertrude was preceded in death by husband, Leo Prewitt, Sr.; parents, Fletcher and Luddie Bills; sons, Stanley Prewitt and Oscar Prewitt; two sisters, five brothers, and two grandsons.

Gertrude leaves to celebrate her life and cherish precious memories: her eight children, Leo (Paula) Prewitt, Jr. and Howard (Louise) Prewitt of Warren, MI, James (Mae) Prewitt and Mary (James) Taylor both of Bolivar, TN, J.C. Prewitt, Sr., Helen Prewitt, Rosie Prewitt (Ezell Watkins), and Alice Prewitt all of Hickory Valley, TN, twenty-one grandchildren, thirty-six great grandchildren, seventeen great-great grandchildren; one daughter in love, Pauline Prewitt of Hickory Valley, TN; one brother-in-law, George (Imogene) Prewitt of Johnson City, TN; sister-in-law, Renate Prewitt of Detroit, MI. Gertrude also leaves to cherish her memories; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. Gertrude was blessed to have her children as her caretakers.
