Glenn Dotson

Glenn Dotson, 79, passed away on Thursday April 8, 2021 in Nashville. He was the son of the late Deltha Dotson and Zachariah Norment and was born February 7, 1942 in Whiteville, TN.
His funeral service was held on Saturday April 17, 2021 at 11:00 am at the Jerome Boyd Chapel at Dixie Funeral Home with Reverend Guy Hendree, Sr. in charge. Burial was in the Melrose Cemetery-Whiteville and Dixie Funeral Home www.dixiefuneralhome.com was in charge of the professional service.
He attended and was a graduate of Allen-White High School in Whiteville, TN.
Glenn later joined the United States Army and served as Military Police and attained certification as a sharpshooter (Rifle M-1). After his tenure in the military, he gained employment as a mail carrier with the United States Postal Service in Dallas, TX and remained there until retirement.
Glenn had a passion for knowledge, education, and religious theories. His passion carried over as he joined Elcanaan Baptist Church and served as a dedicated member until his health failed. At Elcanaan, he labored faithfully as an associate minister, Sunday school teacher, bus driver and trustee. As a result of his generous spirit and pleasant personality, he was loved by many. His influence will forever remain in the lives of all who knew him.
He was preceded in death by his parents and three siblings: Brenda Jean Dotson, James Arthur Dotson, and Novella Rollins.
Glenn’s life will forever be cherished in the lives of his children: Shawnie Dotson and Dawnie Dotson of Tyler, TX, Iesha Dotson of Houston, TX, Brandon Keith (Shuntay) Dotson of Dallas, TX; siblings, Gaston (Deloris) Dotson of Jackson, TN, Edna Dotson Ford of Bolivar, TN and George T. (Brenda) Dotson of Whiteville, TN; grandchildren, Desma, Ke’Ondre, Garrison, Zoe, and Madison; a special niece, Tangie L. Dotson and a host of devoted nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.e, TN; grandchildren, Desma, Ke’Ondre, Garrison, Zoe, and Madison; a special niece, Tangie L.
