Herman was born on Wednesday, October 12, 1952 to the late Florence Hayes and Artie L. Hayes, Sr.

Herman departed this life on April 1, 2026 at home surrounded by his love ones.

Herman confessed Christ at Jones Chapel at an early age.

After thirty years of employment, he retired from the City of Grand Junction.

He enjoyed working on cars, riding his Harley Davidson and joking around with his family and friends.

In addition to his parents, Herman was preceded in death by two sisters, Alma J. Hayes and Mary F. Hayes.

Herman leaves to cherish his memories: His loving Fiancee, Linda F. Gibson of Grand Junction, TN; two sisters, Willie F. McCleelan of Bolivar, Tn and Barbara F. Woods of Memphis, TN; one brother, Artie L. Hayes of Jackson, TN; five stepchildren that he loved as his own, Tyrone Gibson, Nancy Gibson, Marcella Smith, Tamarcus Smith, and Lakesha Smith; special grandchild, Terrin Henderson, thirteen grandchildren, two great granchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
