Jackie John Phinnessee
March 22, 1960 ~ October 23, 2025 (age 65)
Jackie Phinnessee was born on March 22, 1960 to the late Mary Louise Phinnessee and Elmo Hussey in Grand Junction, TN.
His funeral service was held on Saturday November 8, 2025 at 1:00 pm at New Hope MB Church. Burial was in the church cemetery and Dixie Funeral Home www.dixiefuneralhome.com was in charge of the professional service.
Jackie received his education at Hardeman County Schools and graduated at Bolivar Industrial High School. After graduation, he enlisted in the United States Army as a Reconnaissance (Calvary Scout).
He fnished his education at Midland College where he played basketball earning him the name” Phinny from Tenny”. He was a member of the Fraternal Order Master Masonry. He became a 32nd Degree. He also became a Shriner member. Jackie worked for the Bolivar and Brownsville Sheri Department. He later worked for the Henning Police Department as a police-man until becoming the Chief of Police in Hennings, TN. He worked until his health begin to fail. Jackie was an active member of the Fraternal Order of Police. Jackie was preceded in death by two sisters, Bettye Phinnessee and Georgia Fryer.
Jackie leaves to cherish his memories: his loving wife, Sonja Phinnessee; two sons, Jackie Jarmal Phinnessee and DeVante’ Phinnessee; one step son, Raylon Barbee; two daughters, Daja Phinnessee and Chamaya Phinnessee; four grandchildren, Destini Phinnessee, Jackie Jarmal Phinnessee, Jr., Elijah Tru Phinnessee, and Meila Phinnessee; four brothers, Monroe Phinnessee, Jr., David (Rhonda ) Phinnessee,Milton (Joyce Ann) Phinnessee, and Gregory ( Sheila) Hussey; six sisters, Mae Ola Phinnessee, Patricia (Y.C.) Douglas, Doris Johnson, Sandra Hussey, Wanda Walker, and Greta Hussey; three brothers-in-law, Ernest Fryer, Franz (Sheree) Nolen, and Fritz (Shana)) Toliver; one sister-in-law, Gale Shaw and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
