66 Years Old
James Edward Crisp passed away on Monday February 17, 2025. He was born on October 8, 1958 as the eldest son of James Wallace and Eva Crisp.
His final funeral service was held on Saturday March 8, 2025 at 12:00 noon at Greater Springfield MB Church with Minister Carl Worthy in charge. Burial was in the Mt. Zion Cemetery and Dixie Funeral Home www.dixiefuneralhome.com was in charge of the professional service.
He confessed his relationship with Jesus Christ at a young age at Bowden Hill CME Church.
He was educated in the Hardeman County public school system. During his high school years he worked as a veterinary technician and later at the City of Bolivar Sanitation Department.
In 1980 he relocated to Detroit, MI where he worked with the Detroit Recycling Center. He owned Crisp Snowplow and Demolition Company.
After several years in Detroit he married Valerie Crisp.
In 2002 he returned to Hardeman County and worked at his uncle's wood business.
Known as "King Crisp" he loved his dogs, gardening, hunting and fishing.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his son, James Henderson and one sister, Katherine Crisp;
He leaves to cherish his memory his wife; his children, Arnez (Lashunta) McNeal, Rashawada Crisp, James Edward (Lashonda) Crisp II, Freddie Lee Buggs, and Jessica Crisp; siblings, Carolyn (Robert) Lee, Dale (Roosevelt) Sain, Gale (Roy) Richardson, Eva Faye Crisp, Rico Morrow and Wayne (Candace) Crisp; many other relatives and friends that will truly miss him.
