James (Bobby) Woods

James Aubrey Woods, 59, better known as “Bobby” was a beloved husband, father, brother, uncle, cousin and friend.

James passed away Sunday, May 8, 2022 in Bolivar, TN.

His funeral service was held on Saturday May 21, 2022 at 1:00 noon at the Mt. Olive MB Church with Pastor Herbert Murphy in charge.  Burial was in the Church Cemetery and Dixie Funeral Home www.dixiefuneralhome.com was in charge of the professional service.

James was the seventh child of ten children born to the late Luther and Mattie B. Woods of Bolivar, TN.

James confessed a hope in Christ at an early age and united with the Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church.

He attended public schools in Hardeman County. He also worked various jobs in Tennessee, Chicago and Arizona.

He loved to travel, cook, clean, dress up, and hang out with friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; Luther and Mattie B. Woods, grandparents; Aubrey and Idell Sain, Addie B. Smith, Roosevelt Woods, two brothers; Louis Lloyd (Eddie), Luther Woods, Jr. (Pig or Luther Boy), one sister; Evelyn J. Robinson (Buddy).

James leaves to cherish his memories; a wife, Pamela Woods “whom he called his “Big Fine Darling”, four children; Bianca, Brittany, Jessica and Jeon Woods all of Chicago, IL one brother; Cedric Woods, five sisters; Doris M. Turner, Inell Washington, Gazella Coleman, Gwendolyn Woods all of Bolivar, TN and Natalie Woods of Tamarc, FL and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends, including special friends; Jimmy Woods, Michael Lake and Jerome Jarrett.
