Jerry Henderson of Bolivar, TN made his triumphant transition to glory on May 19,2020 with his eyes looking toward Heaven Assured the angels rejoiced at his arrival. Jerry was affectionately known as “Doc” a prestigious man of God.
His graveside service was held on Saturday May 30, 2020 at 12:00 noon @ Concord MB Church Cemetery in Slayton, Ms with Pastor Edward Bowers, Jr was in charge. Burial was in the Church Cemetery and Dixie Funeral Home (www.dixiefuneralhome.com) was in charge of the professional service.
Jerry Henderson was born on March 13, 1965 in Marshall County, Mississippi to the late Mary Henderson and Ed Jones. He was a loving husband to his wife, Prophetess Malesha (Lisa) Henderson. He was a native of LaGrange, Tennessee. He graduated from Fayette Ware High School in 1983. He was employed at Ashley Furniture for 18 years and he was a hard and dedicated worker.
Pastor Jerry Henderson was ordained in 2008 by Pastor Edward Bowers Jr. at Little Walnut Grove M.B. Church where he served as an Associate Minister. He went on to receive his Diploma in Theology in 2010 from American Baptist College. He was installed as Pastor in 2016 and was an invaluable faithful servant who dedicated his life to the members of Body of Christ Devine Destiny Church. He had a servant’s heart and genuine passion for people, and he led by example. He lifted spirits and inspired souls everywhere he went.
Pastor Henderson was a member of Victoria Lodge #53, T.P. Miller Chapter 143 {Royal Arch Mason’s} Victoria Commandry #42 {Knight templar}, Al Uzza Temple #169 and King Solomon Consistory #132. Pastor Henderson enjoyed playing and coaching basketball, fishing, horseback riding, volleyball, mowing lawns, and teaching the word of God.
Pastor Jerry Henderson was preceded in death by his parents, two Brothers: Michael Henderson and Royzell Henderson and one sister Linda Henderson.
He leave behind to carry on his Legacy: his Wife Malesha (Lisa) Henderson of Bolivar, TN: two brothers; Claude Henderson Jr. of Chicago, IL and Larry Henderson of Memphis, TN: two sisters; Mary Henderson and Lavorn Henderson both of LaGrange, TN: two sons; Temari (Rachael) Henderson of Jackson, TN and Quenterrions Tray Williams of Gallatin, TN; two daughters: Ashleck Woods and Ashunda (Tavasea) Murphy both of Bolivar, TN; twelve grandchildren, one great grands.
