Joanne Howard White

Joanne Howard White of Bolivar passed away on Monday September 25, 2023 in Nashville.  She was born on May 13, 1953 to the late Leslie and Fannie Howard.  

Her funeral service was held on Saturday, September 30, 2023 at 11:00 am at Greater Springfield MB Church with Reverend Robert Parham in charge.  Burial was in the Bolivar Community Cemetery in and Dixie Funeral Home http://www.dixiefuneralhome.com was in charge of the professional service.

At a young age she confessed a hope in Jesus Christ and joined Greater Springfield MB church.  She enjoyed singing and was a member of a group called the Goldenettes.  

She was educated in the Hardeman County public schools and attended Bolivar Industrial and Central High School where she was a 1972 gratuate.  She was employed at Western Mental Health Institute as a technician and retired after thirty-five years.  She attended Tennessee College of Applied Technology-Whiteville and received a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) degree.  

On September 4, 1974 she married Leon White and raised two sons, Kendale and Michael.

She enjoyed crossword puzzles, watching Westerns on television and CNN news.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Michael; brothers,Augustus and Leslie Howard, Jr.; one sister, Betty Jean Fletcher.

She leaves to cherish her memory her husband and son Kendale (Catrina) White; one sister, Juliaette (James) Holt, brother, Willie Joe Howard; daughter-in-law, Marlita White; four grandchildren and one great grandchild; many other relatives and friends that will truly miss her.
