John Wesley Finley passed away on Saturday September 2, 2023 in Toone.  He was born on October 19, 1940 to the late Hamilton and Inell Finley.

His Memorial Service is scheduled for Thursday October 12, 2023 at 1:00 pm at Dixie Funeral Home.  

He attended the Hardeman County public schools, Toone and Allen-White High School.  

He believed in Jesus Christ  and had a wonderful childhood.  

He enjoyed playing baseball and squirrel hunting.  

He was a US Army veteran (1963-65) and served in Germany.  

After his discharge from the Army he relocated to Detroit and worked for Revere Copper and Brass Company.

After over fifty-five years in Detroit, he returned to Toone and lived with his sister and brother-in-law, Mary Ann and Ed Ellison. He was an early riser and enjoyed sitting under the carport with family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Roy A. Finley and one sister, Ruby Finley Jenkins.  

He leaves to cherish his memory siblings, Hamilton (Bernice) Finley, Jr., Marilyn Jackson, Mary Ann (Ed) Ellison, Lois (Joseph) Suttles, Katherine (Alvin) Pirtle; many other relatives and friends that will miss him.
